Terms for using the free, ad-supported SmartClean Android app and website.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the SmartClean / Smart Clean Phone Android application ("SmartClean", "the app", "we", "us") and this website. By using the app or website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.
Your use of the app is also subject to our Privacy Policy, any in-app disclosures, Android permission screens, Google Play terms, and third-party service terms that apply to features you use.
SmartClean is currently provided as a free, ad-supported app. We do not currently offer subscriptions, premium subscriptions, paid recurring plans, or subscription-based trials. Ads may be shown through AppLovin and AppLovin MAX mediation, including mediated advertising networks. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and applicable law.
We may add, remove, limit, or change monetization features in the future. If any paid product or subscription is ever introduced, it must be disclosed separately in the app and store listing, and the applicable purchase terms will apply.
SmartClean provides cleaner and utility tools such as Junk Cleaner, Large File Cleaner, Duplicate Photo Cleaner, Photo Optimizer, WhatsApp Cleaner, App Manager, Notification Cleaner, Uninstall Apps, Speaker Cleaner, Battery Check, Device Status, Network Speed Test, settings, reminders, support, and feedback. Features may vary by app version, country, Android version, device manufacturer, permissions granted, and Google Play availability.
SmartClean is designed to help you find and manage files, media, notifications, and apps. You are responsible for reviewing scan results before deleting or uninstalling anything. You should keep backups of important files, photos, videos, documents, and app data before cleaning.
Some features require Android permissions or special access, such as media/storage access, All files access, folder access, Usage Access, Notification Access, notification permission, Internet access, audio/vibration controls, or package delete permission. SmartClean may open Android system settings or system confirmation screens so you can grant, revoke, or confirm actions.
Android limits what cleaner apps can do. SmartClean cannot guarantee access to every file, every app cache, private directories of other apps, system files, hidden storage, work-profile data, protected notifications, or all installed-app information. On modern Android versions, broad storage and media permissions are restricted, and app stopping or uninstalling generally requires system-controlled flows.
If SmartClean requests All files access, it is for core cleaner functionality that may require broad access to user-accessible shared storage, such as large file cleaning, junk cleaning, or WhatsApp media cleaning. We may use more limited alternatives such as MediaStore, Android Photo Picker, or Storage Access Framework folder picker when they are enough for the feature.
You can deny or revoke access in Android settings. If you do, some features may become unavailable or work in a limited mode. SmartClean does not use storage permissions to upload your personal file contents to our servers.
WhatsApp Cleaner is designed to scan locally stored WhatsApp media and related files after you grant storage or folder access. It may show categories such as junk files, video, image, voice, audio, and documents. It does not read, upload, or analyze WhatsApp messages, contacts, chat names, account data, backups, or chat databases.
Before cleaning selected WhatsApp media, the app is designed to show a confirmation. Deleting WhatsApp media files can cause those media files to stop opening inside WhatsApp chats. You are responsible for reviewing what you delete and keeping backups where needed.
SmartClean is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC, Meta Platforms, Inc., or any of their affiliates. WhatsApp names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners.
Duplicate Photo Cleaner and Photo Optimizer operate on photos or media you allow the app to access. Duplicate detection, similarity detection, compression estimates, "best photo" recommendations, and savings estimates are automated approximations and may be imperfect. You are responsible for reviewing previews and selections before deleting originals or compressed copies.
Photo optimization may create a new compressed file or replace an original only if the app offers that option and you choose it. Metadata may be preserved or removed depending on feature settings, Android support, and the choices shown in the app.
App Manager may use Android usage statistics after you grant Usage Access. Usage statistics can indicate recently active or rarely used apps, but they do not guarantee a complete live list of all running processes. SmartClean does not claim that it can force-stop every third-party app on every Android device.
Uninstall Apps uses Android’s system uninstall flow for apps you select. SmartClean does not perform silent uninstall. Android may ask you to confirm each app uninstall, and some apps may not be removable because they are system apps, protected by device policy, required by a work profile, or restricted by Android.
Notification Cleaner requires notification access and works only after you enable it in Android settings. It can clear or hide notifications from apps you select, subject to Android rules. Some notifications, such as ongoing, foreground-service, system, work-profile, or protected notifications, may not be removable. SmartClean does not upload notification text, message contents, sender names, or private notification contents to our servers.
Device Status and Battery Check are diagnostic tools. They may show information such as Android version, RAM, storage, battery level, CPU, and screen details if the device provides those values. Some fields may be unavailable or approximate. These features do not repair hardware, replace manufacturer diagnostics, guarantee battery health, or guarantee a specific battery-life improvement.
Speaker Cleaner plays tones and may use vibration to help remove water or dust from a speaker. Use it responsibly. Do not place the speaker close to your ear while the sound is playing, do not use uncomfortable volume levels, and stop the feature if it causes discomfort. SmartClean does not guarantee that the feature will remove water, dust, or hardware damage.
Network Speed Test measures download and upload speed only after you start it. It may use Measurement Lab (M-Lab) NDT7 and Cloudflare Speed Test endpoints. The test can use significant data, especially on mobile data, and speed results are estimates affected by network congestion, device performance, Wi-Fi quality, VPNs, carrier policies, server distance, and temporary conditions.
Third-party measurement services may receive technical connection data such as your IP address, network information, approximate location derived from IP, ASN/ISP information, test timing, and performance metrics. M-Lab may retain and publish measurement data under its own data policy. Cloudflare processes speed test data under its own privacy terms, including IP truncation for speed-test processing as described by Cloudflare. SmartClean does not use this feature to access browsing history, private files, messages, photos, contacts, or precise GPS location.
SmartClean may use third-party services for advertising, consent management, analytics, diagnostics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, hosting, support, and network measurement. These services may include AppLovin, AppLovin MAX mediation, and mediated advertising networks; Firebase services, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Amplitude, Google Play services, M-Lab, Cloudflare, and similar providers.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control, but we try to disclose material providers in our Privacy Policy and configure analytics to avoid private file contents, file names, file paths, notification text, message contents, and sensitive device identifiers.
You agree not to misuse the app or website. You must not:
Your files, photos, videos, documents, apps, messages, notifications, and device data remain yours. SmartClean does not claim ownership of your content. You are responsible for deciding what to delete, compress, keep, uninstall, hide, or share. If you use SmartClean on a device you do not own, you must have permission from the device owner and comply with applicable laws and workplace, school, or family rules.
The app, website, design, text, graphics, logos, software, and other materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose on Android devices you own or control.
Android, Google Play, AppLovin, Firebase, Cloudflare, M-Lab, WhatsApp, Meta, and other third-party names, logos, and marks are owned by their respective owners. Reference to third-party names does not imply endorsement or affiliation unless expressly stated.
We may update, improve, suspend, limit, or discontinue features at any time. Some features may require app updates, Android updates, network access, Play services, device support, permissions, or regional availability. We may change these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
SmartClean is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will find every junk file, duplicate photo, large file, WhatsApp media item, notification, battery issue, app, or device parameter. We do not guarantee that cleaning will increase device speed, battery life, storage availability, network speed, device health, or speaker quality.
We do not warrant that the app or website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device, or free from data loss. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these disclaimers may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, files, photos, videos, documents, apps, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of SmartClean or the website. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
These Terms do not limit any mandatory consumer rights you may have under the laws of your country or region. If a term is unenforceable, the remaining terms remain in effect to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or stop providing the app, website, or support if you violate these Terms, if required by law or platform policy, or if we discontinue the service.
